Sunday service after roof collapse [Video]

CABELL COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) – A Sunday service at a church in Barboursville is still blocked off by police tape after a partial roof collapse. The community at Elmwood Mission Baptist Church is not slowing down despite the obstacle they are working to overcome.

One phrase Pastor Matt Waskey said a few times during his sermon was “the church isn’t the buildings, it’s the people,” which was seen in how much love each and every person held for each other in the church– relieved no one was hurt.

Pastor Rick and his wife, Brenda Glass, helped to build this church than 30 years ago before moving away. They are back visiting for appointments and attended service at Elmwood on Sunday. When they found out about the collapse the other day, they thought the worst.
