LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Louisville’s new executive director for the city’s office of equity said she’s looking forward to serving in her new role.
Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg officially introduced Dr. Vanessa McPhail at a news conference Aug. 6, a day after she assumed her new leadership role.
McPhail brings extensive experience in the field of racial equity after a long career with Jefferson County Public Schools.
Her assignment: improve racial equity across Metro Government and beyond.
“I look forward to developing, implementing and monitoring strategies that will foster a more equitable community as we continue to grow Louisville together for a safer, healthier and stronger community,” McPhail said during the news conference.
McPhail most recently served as the community affairs specialist in the Diversity, Equity, and Poverty Department of JCPS, according to a written release.
