DAVISON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WJRT) – It was a packed house at the Davison Township Municipal Building.
With standing room only, Davison Township residents came together for the future of its parks and rec department.
The concerns come as the township has proposed a plan to restructure the parks and rec department.
Laying off four employees, creating a huge loss for the Davison community.
Township leaders blaming a budget deficit as the reason.
“Going forward we do need to make some changes in our township to make our township financially stable for the future, and parks is not the only thing I’m looking at right now,” said Davison Township Supervisor Jim Slezak.
But it’s the future and all the programs that could be lost that have residents concerned.
