Butte County Sobering Center opening August 1 | News [Video]

The idea of the center is to help people come down off substances, whether they be drugs or alcohol, in a safe environment and also connect them with a path to recovery.

CHICO, Calif. – Butte County Behavioral Health has an opening date for the sobering center in Chico. The development of the sobering center has been a story Action News Now has been following for months now.

After months of remodeling, the Butte County sobering center will be opening on August 1.

“I think it’s a really unique collaboration between the cities, the tribes, the county, and many people in the community who all wanted to see this happen, and it’s really exciting that we’re all going that we’re going to see the opening in a week,” Butte Behavioral Health Director Scott Kennelly said.
