Boom of new businesses in Sturgis [Video]

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) – In 2023, Sturgis had 17 new businesses that opened in the community.

Out of those 17 businesses, there were 36 new job opportunities for the residents who live in town.

Amanda Anglin, Executive Director of the Sturgis Economic Development Corporation, says that she has been seeing her community support these new businesses already.

“They’re bringing jobs to our community for our residents, and there’s a wide variety of services that they’re offering to our residents so they can get the services they need right here in the community where they live,” said Anglin.

Looking into 2024, Anglin says that she sees more growth in the Industrial Park and more opportunities for people looking to open or expand their businesses in the town of Sturgis.
