BEDFORD — Bedrock Community Church, Inc. has received tax-exempt status from the Bedford County Board of Supervisors for a parcel it recently purchased in the town of Bedford.
Bedrock’s “The Outpost” church building is located on East Main Street in Bedford in a building that formed housed the Bedford Bulletin weekly newspaper. The church, which formerly met at Liberty High School, recently bought a building at 403 Otey St. adjacent to Outpost.
The church hosts Celebrate Recovery meetings and other outreaches and offers meeting space for community partners, according to a staff report during the board of supervisors’ Aug. 12 meeting. The tax-exempt status means the county will not receive annual tax revenue in the amount of just more than $13,000 from the property.
