27th Annual Kids Day brings free resources to Cross [Video]

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) – An annual event in Cross brought essential resources and support to residents and their families Thursday.

The 27th annual Kids’ Day event at Cross High School was organized by the nonprofit Communities Helping to Encourage Change in Kids in partnership with the Cross Community Center.

With the help of dozens of vendors, this year’s event offered free produce, medical exams, family service, and college information to the youth and families of Cross and surrounding communities.

Nonprofit founder Theresa Prioleau emphasized the importance of joint community efforts.

“Often times we find that a lot of resources are out there, but just a lot of people don’t know about them,” Prioleau said. “So, therefore this was my way 27 years ago as far as bringing those resources to this area so therefore our people can have the opportunity to know about them and take advantage of them.”
