Omaha Councilman to hold town hall on hole in 36th Street bridge [Video]

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Omaha Councilman Ron Hug will be holding a town hall meeting about the hole in the bridge near 36th and L, a statement said Friday.

In this town hall, which will be attended by Councilman Hug and representatives from the Nebraska Department of Transportation, they will discuss the immediate plan to repair the bridge, as well as other topics relevant to the South Omaha community.

The town hall will be held in the Center for Advanced Manufacturing (CAM) Building on the South Omaha campus of Metro Community College, at 2709 Edward Babe Gomez Ave. It will take place on August 19, from 6-7 p.m.

In recent discussions with 6 News, Councilman Hug and NDOT representative Jim Laughlin say that the bridge is still structurally sound, being proactive is the best way to solve this issue.
