Mountain Gate community impacted by gas station fire | News [Video]

MOUNTAIN GATE, Calif. – An RV caught fire on Sunday evening near the Chevron station in Mountain Gate. The fire spread to the gas station building and by the time fire crews extinguished the flames, the building had been destroyed. Now, the former employees and many neighbors are figuring out what to do next.

La Fogata Restaurant owner Maurilia Hernandez tells Action News Now that her family restaurant was completely destroyed in the fire. She said, “My heart just sank” as she watched firefighters try to extinguish the flames.  

Stacy Coyne would give out food to those in need there every Thursday and now she is gathering the community to help those who have now lost their livelihoods as a result of the fire. “It’s like a family,” she said. “They need help right now.”
