JABSOM students receive their white coats to start their medical school journey | Local [Video]

HONOLULU (Island News) – Say hello to the John A. Burns School of Medicine class of 2028. Seventy-seven students start their medical education by putting on their white coats.

Eighty-eight percent of this incoming class are Hawaii resident, with many wanting to stay here to help their communities.

For some, it’s a family affair.

“I feel very lucky and proud to be here. I think it is especially special because my grandpa will be coating me today, and I feel very lucky that, as a physician, he can pass on his legacy to me,” says Lexie Masca.
