DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) – Two years after a fire destroyed their building, one local restaurant is back and better than ever.
Zack’s Family Restaurant opened in 2006 and was engulfed in flames during the summer of 2022.
Shortly after the fire destroyed the restaurant, owners Zack Whaley and his wife, Dianne, expressed their gratitude to the patrons, neighbors and other restaurants who jumped in to lend a hand.
“That‘s what really drives me and Dianne anyway, is the fact that our community loves us, and they always have,“ Whaley said to News4 in 2022. ”We’ve been in business 27 years and every day is a blessing.”
During Zack’s reopening Monday, the community once again showed up to give the Whaleys that driving support.
Guests showered Zack and Dianne with hugs and handshakes, welcoming them and their business back to the Wiregrass.
Once again, Whaley expressed how grateful he is for the community.
