YouTube’s gaming hub Playables is getting competitive [Video]

YouTube‘s gaming hub Playables has been available for all users for six months now, and it’s due for an upgrade. To make its selection of casual titles more appealing for players — and to celebrate platform-wide themes like community and collaboration — YouTube is testing some multiplayer experiences within Playables.

According to the page that tracks YouTube’s ongoing test features and experiments, two games available on Playables now offer competitive environments. Ludo Club and Magic Tiles 3 are available on the mobile and desktop versions of YouTube, and they can both be played alongside other competitors in real time.

By testing a multiplayer experience with just two titles, YouTube is carrying on with the cautious approach it has applied to Playables up to this point. After teasing the hub back in June of 2023, YouTube rolled it out among Premium subscribers later that year.
