FLINT, Mich. (WJRT) – Saturday Costa Rose hosted a “Hands On Health” event.
The event occurred from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Flint’s New Standard Academy.
The Hand on Health program featured local healthcare professionals like Kentrail Phipps, a dedicated firefighter and EMT in the City of Flint who shared his front-line experiences and the essential skills required for careers in emergency medical services.
“Hopefully it encourages them,” said Phipps. “Becoming a health care provider, EMT, firefighter, or anything else is fun, just like sports.”
The event was ideal for kids between the ages of 12 and 18 who are interested in exploring careers in emergency medical services, such as an EMT, paramedic, or phlebotomist.
