York County seniors learn how to prepare for emergencies [Video]

YORK COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — Some Midstate seniors are more prepared tonight in case of a disaster.

The Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) and the Pennsylvania Department of Aging held an emergency preparedness event in Spring Grove, York County on Tuesday.

The “Preparing Together – Are You Ready PA?” program provides resources available to senior centers and other organizations across the Commonwealth to address numerous dangers, from widespread flooding to house fires.

“It’s been an amazing lift in York County to see this program being done in some of these senior centers here,” said Jason Kavulich, the PA Secretary of Aging. “But really, we’re hoping that every one of our 485 senior centers sees this program come through at least once in the next few years.”
