Wymore Public Library serves as beacon for readers since 1919 [Video]

WYMORE, Neb. (KOLN) – Austin Jackson grew up reading in the Wymore Public Library. He calls it a “beacon” in the community.

“And I’d kind of like to keep it that way and expand on that as much as I possibly can,” said Austin, the director at the Wymore Public Library.

Now he’s running this resource in his hometown and delivering books to people who can’t leave their homes.

“It’s nice to have this building,” Austin said. “But not everybody can get here, so it’s a lot more accessible.”

Austin even works alongside his childhood librarian, Carolyn Van Boening.

“(This library) is bigger than ones in a lot of small towns with more books,” said Carolyn, who works as a library assistant and enjoys reading to pre-school children.
