Wyandotte Co. seniors urged to apply for tax rebate programs [Video]

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Seniors in Wyandotte County, Kansas, have been urged to apply for two tax rebate programs that could help save them hundreds of dollars.

The Unified Government of Wyandotte County has announced that many seniors or those living with a disability can now verify their eligibility for the BPU PILOT Relief and Property Tax Rebate program and the Utility and Sales Tax Rebate program. The application process began on Thursday, Jan. 2, and will remain open until April 15.

County officials noted that community outreach programs have been made available to help interested residents apply for tax rebates on their utilities and homes. Applicants can call 311 to make an appointment to present paperwork and complete applications. Free transportation could also be available with at least 48 hours notice.
