• AEW’s TBS Women’s Champion Mercedes Mone had been pursuing a wrestling match or collaboration with hip-hop star Megan Thee Stallion before the musician’s deal with WWE was finalized.

Last month, Mone expressed to TMZ Sports her desire to wrestle with or against Stallion. Megan Thee Stallion’s song “Neva Play” became the new opening theme for WWE SmackDown during last week’s premiere on USA Network.

The two stars, who met at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards in Japan, were reportedly working on a collaboration. PWInsider revealed there were expectations that Stallion would partner with Mone in All Elite Wrestling after “the two sides had agreed to do something together”.

However, with WWE now using Stallion’s music, it’s uncertain if their plans will still move forward.
