WWE Launches New Indie Wrestling Development Program WWE ID [Video]

WWE has launched a new program designed to give up-and-coming independent talent a potential path to becoming a WWE Superstar.

On Tuesday, WWE announced the creation of WWE Independent Development (WWE ID). This is a new developmental program that will aid independent wrestling schools and talent in finding potential WWE Superstars. The program will support indie prospects and ID-designated schools with “world-class training, development and mentorship.”

“WWE ID is the latest in our efforts to identify and support the journey of up-and-coming wrestlers, in turn raising the profile of and strengthening the independent wrestling ecosystem,” said WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque.  

WWE announced multiple schools that will have the ID designation. The first schools listed are: Booker T’s Reality of Wrestling (Houston), Cody Rhodes’ Nightmare Factory (Atlanta), Seth Rollins’ Black and Brave Academy (Davenport, Iowa), Elite Pro Wrestling Training Center (Concord, N.H.) and Rikishi’s KnokX Pro Academy (Los Angeles).
