Wreaths Across America Makes Stop in Mohawk Valley | Community [Video]

UTICA, N.Y. — Five tractor trailers traveling from coast to coast, honoring veterans, made a stop in the Mohawk Valley on Monday for Wreaths Across America.

One of these trucks, loaded with thousands of wreaths, visited Utica-Notre Dame Junior/Senior High School for a special ceremony.

The wreaths will be placed at local grave sites this Saturday.

This initiative is in collaboration with Walmart.

The local stop supports a key aspect of the Wreaths Across America mission, which is to educate the next generation about the importance of freedom.

This year, National Wreaths Across America Day is Dec. 14. Area locations to receive wreaths include Clinton’s Old Burying Ground, Utica’s Forest Hill Cemetery and at the Rome Cemetery.
