Wreaths Across America comes to Brewer for the first time | Local News [Video]

BREWER — Wreaths Across America is a beloved tradition, honoring our country’s fallen heroes. For the first time, those wreaths were laid upon headstones inside Brewer cemeteries on Saturday. 

Over 400 veterans were honored with wreaths thanks to support from the community. 

“Since Brewer is known as a community of caring, this is what we wanted to do, and I think that the people in the community have rallied around this first-time-ever project,” said Susan Xirinachs, who co-coordinated the event. 

“This really was a community effort, we had many businesses in brewer who gave, who were so generous and donated so much so that every veteran in Brewer cemeteries would have a wreath placed on their grave,” shared Eric Glidden, City Manager for the City of Brewer. 

Wreaths were placed at three different city cemeteries by dozens of volunteers, including area veterans and their families.
