A beloved annual holiday tradition is returning to Wrangell this weekend, and it’s set to dazzle both locals and visitors alike!
The Great Christmas Boat Parade will take place on Saturday, December 14th, bringing a festive spectacle to the water. Volunteers are already gearing up to deck out their boats with lights, decorations, and even firework displays to spread holiday cheer.
Lucy Robinson from Wrangell Parks & Recreation shared that this cherished event dates back to the 1970s. She emphasized the importance of such traditions, especially during the colder, wetter season, as a way for the community to connect.
“It’s simple and wholesome,” Robinson said, adding that the sight of families coming together to watch the parade creates those “warm and fuzzy vibes.”
