At Lexington’s ‘Woofstock,’ pets and owners supported the Humane Society’s programs with music, vendors, and a pet costume contest—a fun-filled fundraising event.
LEXINGTON, S.C. — Pet owners and dogs had a tail-wagging fun Sunday afternoon in Lexington at the Icehouse Amphitheater off Main Street.
The Humane Society of South Carolina hosted its annual fundraiser, “Woofstock,” to raise money for its spay and neuter program, cruelty and neglect investigations department and trap and release program.
“The community traps community cats and has them vaccinated, fixed and ear tipped and put them back out in the community so they don’t repopulate,” said Dawn Wilkinson, executive director of the Humane Society of South Carolina.
The event featured local vendors, beverages, live music and a pet costume contest. News19 caught up with the contest winners, Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf.
