Woodbury County Emergency Management offers Disaster Survival Training to the Siouxland community [Video]

SIOUX CITY (KTIV) – One local emergency management team is reaching out to the community to make sure they know what to do in an emergency.

Woodbury County Emergency Management held ‘Disaster Survival Training’ Tuesday night at Western Iowa Tech Community College.

This is the second disaster training they have hosted this summer, with the previous one being back in the beginning of June. They had three more planned after the initial training but were delayed due to flooding.

Throughout the training, the community can learn more about different disaster scenarios and how they should prepare for one beforehand.

Organizers said the overall goal is to make sure people can take care of themselves in any disaster.
