Womens Gymnastics: Huskers Sweep Event Titles in Victory Over Terrapins [Video]

LINCOLN, Neb. (Nebraska Athletics Press Release) – The Nebraska women’s gymnastics team defeated Maryland in a Big Ten meet on Sunday, 196.325-195.950, at the Bob Devaney Sports Center.

The Huskers moved to 2-6 on the season (1-1 Big Ten), while Maryland fell to 2-4 (0-2 Big Ten).

Emma Spence claimed the vault title with a 9.825, as well as the beam title with a 9.900. Whitney Jencks won the bars event with a 9.900 and Lauren Homecillo clinched the floor title in her first time in any event lineup this season with a career-high 9.950.

Spence won the all-around for NU (2-6, 1-1 Big Ten) with a 39.475. McClelland and Jencks both earned a 39.225.

NU did not have a fall on any event, and the team notched three career highs and four season highs.
