Women are outpacing men in Ohio early voting data shows [Video]

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – A look at voting data shows over 845,000 Ohioans have voted early in person or by mail.

That’s according to the Ohio Secretary of State’s data analytics dashboard tracking county-by-county votes.

Older voters are outpacing middle-aged and young voters in getting out the vote.

But there’s one demographic that’s outperforming their counterparts and that’s women voters.

“We are very pleased to hear about women turning out and voting,” League of Women Voters co-president, Bonnie Bishop, said.

According to data compiled by TargetSmart’s, Target Early Data, women account for 50.8 percent of the 2024 general election early vote share so far, men are at 44.1 percent.

One woman participating in early voting said she thinks there could be a number of reasons, but a woman at the top of the ticket could be extra motivation.

“I think it’s important for women to vote and I think a lot of women are voting because they want to see a woman president,” …
