ASHLAND, Maine — A woman from Ashland is facing charges for allegedly moving out of a residence and leaving three dogs behind.
The Ashland Police Department and state animal humane officials executed a search warrant at a home on Fenderson Rd. in Ashland on Jan. 8, according to a press release posted on the department’s social media account Wednesday. Officials said they received a report that dogs were abandoned by their owner.
During the search, police found three dogs abandoned in the residence, according to the press release. They didn’t have any water or food and were living in their own excrement and urine, officials said.
