Woman dies following head-on crash in Minneapolis [Video]

MINNEAPOLIS — A Saturday night crash in Minneapolis’ Folwell neighborhood sent three people to the hospital where one woman later died, according to police. 

In a press release, police said around 10:40 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to a two-vehicle crash with injuries at the intersection of North Lowry Avenue and North James Avenue in Minneapolis. 

Police said preliminary information shows the driver of a Dodge Journey crossed the center line of Lowry Avenue and crashed into an oncoming Dodge Durango head-on. 

After the crash the driver of the Journey was assaulted by a passenger from the Durango, police said. 

Crews took two people from the Durango to North Memorial Health. Police said the 31-year-old woman driving the vehicle later died at the hospital, despite life-saving efforts.
