University at Buffalo graduate Todd Vogt marked his 50th birthday in Paris on Friday. He competed in the PR3 mixed double sculls.
Vogt and his teammate Saige Harper finished fourth in their heat. Only the winner of each heat on Friday was guaranteed a spot in the medals race.
Vogt and Harper will have a chance to qualify for the medal race in the repechage rounds on Saturday morning. The competition is scheduled to air at 5:10 a.m. Saturday on Peacock.
Jamestown’s Rayven Sample finished eighth in his heat in the men’s T47 100-meter race. The Falconer High School graduate was eliminated from medal contention with that effort.
