Gloria Witt, the Democratic nominee in the Virginia 5th Congressional District race, recently endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris as the party’s nominee for president.
“I am deeply inspired by Kamala’s leadership, resilience and unwavering commitment to justice and equality,” Witt, of Amherst County, wrote in a post shared on the Amherst County Democrats’ Facebook page. “Her vision for our nation is one that includes every community, every voice and every dream.”
Witt, of Amherst County, called Harris’ journey “groundbreaking” as a prosecutor and becoming the country’s first Black and South Asian vice president who has “consistently fought for the rights of all Americans.”
