Wisconsin state parks and forests to host candlelight hikes this fall [Video]

(WSAW) – The Wisconsin DNR is inviting people to participate in candlelight events this fall and experience state-managed properties in a new light.

This fall’s candlelight events at state parks, forests, trails, and recreation areas begin Saturday, Oct. 12. Illuminated walks at Council Grounds, Kohler-Andrae state parks, and more are scheduled through Nov. 2.

“Candlelight hikes are popular with our visitors because they offer such a special experience,” said Steve Schmelzer, DNR Parks and Recreation Management director. “From fall colors and crisp autumn air to toasty bonfires and jack-o’-lanterns, these events embrace some of the best parts of the fall season. We invite everyone to explore Wisconsin’s parks in a new light or visit a new-to-you property for a candlelight event.”
