Threats have forced the closure of two Winnipeg schools on Monday.
According to a social media post by Pembina Trails School Division, a bomb threat for Oak Park School was made Sunday evening.The Winnipeg Police Service was called immediately and dispatched to the school.
In a statement, Shelley Amos, superintendent/CEO of the Pembina Trails School Division said the division made the call to close the school for students and staff.
“As this is an ongoing investigation, we will have no further comment on this matter,” Amos said.
Students have been told to check their teacher’s Edsby sites for learning updates.
The Winnipeg School Division is also reporting that Elmwood High School is closed Monday due to a threat against the school.
Winnipeg police said both schools will remain closed Monday due to the investigation, and police will release additional updates when they are available.
