Wife allegedly ‘butchered’ missing husband for financial motives [Video]

Police will allege that a Sydney woman who has been charged over the alleged murder and dismemberment of her husband may have had a financial motive.

Mamdouh Noufl, 63, was last seen in May 2023 at his home on Juno Parade in Greenacre, with known plans to travel overseas.

It wasn’t until July 1 – when his friends could not contact him – that he was reported missing, Homicide Squad Boss Danny Doherty said.

Initial investigations showed that Noufl had been active on social media, and had accessed his bank accounts.

But police allege that his wife Nirmeen Noufl had taken over his phone and social media accounts, which is why it took months for his family in Egypt, and his friends in Australia, to realise he was missing.

A friend of Mamdouh remembered him as a quiet man.
