WASHINGTON — If you were planning on watching Inauguration Day events Monday from the National Mall, you’ll need to rearrange your plans.
The National Park Service told WUSA9 Sunday morning that the jumbotrons on the Mall have been removed, per the request of the Presidential Inaugural Committee. Thus, with the previous location changes for all official Inauguration events, there will be no public viewing option for most of the ceremonies.
While it is still unclear who has been invited to the official swearing-in ceremony inside the Rotunda, President-elect Donald Trump’s statement Friday on Truth Social said certain “dignitaries and guests will be brought into the Capitol” and that a live viewing party at Capital One Arena would be held, where he would later make an appearance.
