Where do we go from here? Security analyst discusses New Orleans attack [Video]

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – Following a deadly tragedy on New Orleans’ famous Bourbon Street, WBTV’s security analyst discussed rising concerns over safety and ways to stay safe at public events.

The attack happened early Wednesday morning when a man intentionally slammed a pickup truck into a crowd of people, killing at least 10 and injuring at least 35 others.

“Within terrorism circles that are trying to recruit lone wolves or terrorist groups, there is a lot of chatter and has been for a while now of these attacks that don’t take a whole lot of planning, a whole lot of preparation to do,” WBTV security analyst and KDI Protective Services CEO & founder Karl de la Guerra said. “The low-hanging fruit right now…is taking a vehicle, ramming it into a crowd. It’s just something that doesn’t take a lot of planning, a lot of…forethought to make a lot of carnage.”
