RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) – Wheelin’ to Wall is Sept. 28-29 with a weekend packed with biking and nature all around. Director of Wheelin’ to Wall, Charon Geigle, said she wants to inspire awe and wonder through cycling.
The routes chosen are the “Best of the Badlands,” according to the event poster, and that couldn’t be more true. Charon has designed routes that cover all the bases when it comes to badland landscapes. There are 30-mile and 60-mile routes for bikers of all abilities.
Charon had the idea for Wheelin’ to Wall after working on a community project called, “Marketing Hometown America,” which encouraged Wall residents to think about how they wanted to improve their home. She realized there weren’t that many cycling events in Western South Dakota, and that’s how Wheelin’ to Wall was born.
Now, there are nearly 100 people registered from nine different states to cycle in the event.
