MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – Calls for recalls of some Memphis Shelby County School Board Members after MSCS superintendent Dr. Marie Feagins narrowly avoided being ousted by the board.
There are already petitions online for two of the board members, Towanna Murphy and Natalie McKinney. Those are two of the main school board members for Feagins’ termination.
According to Linda Phillips, Shelby County Administrator of Elections, the Shelby County Election Commission had not received anything as of Wednesday.
“You ain’t getting that seat no more, cause you in your feelings ma’am,” said a concerned community member at Tuesday’s meeting.
Community members yelled in the crowd of the special called meeting as board members went back and forth on a last-minute item, MSCS superintendent Dr. Marie Feagins’ termination.
