The Lenexa Planning Commission voted unanimously early Tuesday morning to recommend against approving a plan to turn a local hotel into a homeless services center.Homeless services provider reStart, which operates a shelter downtown, was chosen by the county to run the new shelter.Despite the Planning Commission’s decision, reStart leaders remain committed to the project.”Definitely disappointed in the outcome,” said Stephanie Boyer, CEO of reStart. “We were very hopeful that folks would take a deeper dive into what the project actually is.
