What to know about road closures for the Spokane Marathon this weekend | Community Events [Video]

SPOKANE, Wash. — The Spokane Marathon returns this weekend to downtown, and people should be aware of road closures that will be in effect around the area.

Runners can tackle a full marathon, half marathon, and 10K race Sunday, October 13.

The races start in downtown and take participants through Browne’s Addition, up to Seven Mile Bridge and ending at the Spokane Arena.

Browne’s Addition will have rolling closures for each of the three races. The closures will happen between 7-7:20 a.m., 8-8:20 a.m., and 9-9:20 a.m.

Government Way and Whistalks Way will have brief closures with police letting vehicles through when safe.

Howard Street and Mallon Avenue near the arena will be closed most of the day.
