What they wouldve wanted is for us to never stop fighting: Crowd gathers at Club Q to pay tribute to the lives forever impacted by the shooting nearly two years ago [Video]

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – Those who came to Club Q Sunday shared in moments of silence as they left things like flowers at the bottom of the pictures of the five people lost that night nearly two years ago.

“For us, it’s rebuilding this community and being stronger than what has happened,” survivor Ashtin Gablin said. “We’re trying to create new memories and carry on with what everyone would have wanted.”

Hundreds came together outside of the building where nearly two years ago, a gunman opened fire at clubgoers, killing five and injuring 25 others. Edward Sanders was there that night and was injured in the shooting. He was shot in the ribs and the leg.

He attended Sunday’s event wearing the suit he wore the night of the shooting.
