What Luigi Mangione’s Defense Could Look Like [Video]

Luigi Mangione’s lawyer has indicated he will plead not guilty to murdering UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, and experts are already speculating about his likely defense strategy when he goes on trial in New York.

Thompson, 50, was shot dead by a masked gunman as he walked alone to his company’s annual investor conference at the New York Hilton Midtown at around 6:45 a.m. on Wednesday, December 4.

Mangione, 26, was arrested in Altoona, Pennsylvania, after a McDonald’s customer recognized him from police photos of the killer. Mangione is now fighting extradition from the state and is consulting with his attorney, Thomas Dickey.

Newsweek sought email comment from Dickey on Thursday about his potential legal strategy.
