WASHINGTON D.C., DC — Western New York’s leaders are speaking out, after an apparent assassination attempt on Former President Trump at one of his golf courses in Florida.
In response, Republican Congressman Nick Langworthy, and Republican Congresswoman Claudia Tenny called for increased security.
In a statement, Rep. Langworthy said “The recurring political violence targeting President Trump is unacceptable and deeply un-American — this is not who we are as a nation, and it cannot be tolerated under any circumstances. Unfortunately, instead of cooling tensions after the first assassination attempt in which President Trump was shot, Democrats, Kamala Harris, and the media have turned up the inflammatory rhetoric, further fueling division and violence. Given the escalating threats, I’m calling on President Biden to issue President Trump the same security levels afforded to a sitting President to ensure his safety.”
