An alert from the Indiana Department of Transportation, citing Indiana State Police, said all westbound lanes had been closed at the 66.2 mile-marker westbound, and a crash reconstructionist was responding to the scene.
A social media post from the Plainfield Fire Department said the incident involved a car that was on fire.
All westbound traffic was being diverted off the interstate in that area Thursday morning.
The interstate fully reopened by mid-morning.
Officials haven’t shared any additional information on the circumstances of the crash.
