Westbound I-70 reopens in Plainfield following serious crash [Video]

The crash was reported around 5:45 a.m. Oct. 31 near Quaker Boulevard, a few miles west of Indianapolis International Airport. 

An alert from the Indiana Department of Transportation, citing Indiana State Police, said all westbound lanes had been closed at the 66.2 mile-marker westbound, and a crash reconstructionist was responding to the scene.

A social media post from the Plainfield Fire Department said the incident involved a car that was on fire.

All westbound traffic was being diverted off the interstate in that area Thursday morning. 

The interstate fully reopened by mid-morning.

Officials haven’t shared any additional information on the circumstances of the crash.
