West Virginia Gubernatorial Candidate: Steve Williams [Video]

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) – Steve Williams has a long resume of public service, from serving as Huntington City Manager in the 1980s to being a former delegate. After the last 12 years in the position, he’s Huntington’s only three-term mayor.

Williams is now hoping to lead the state of West Virginia as the next governor. He said his experience in public service is invaluable.

“We found a way to fight the opioid epidemic, build infrastructure, and create a partnership with the University, so we’re doing things in cyberspace. Frankly, we have an opportunity to do great things, and the way I see it is if we can do it in Huntington, then we can do it in West Virginia,” Williams said.

While Williams said there’s more ground to cover statewide, he believes the fundamentals are the same.
