West Texas nonprofits get grant funding from health foundation [Video]

SAN ANGELO, Texas — The San Angelo Health Foundation awarded $247,118 to eight West Texas nonprofits in its first quarter, the foundation announced this week.

Foundation trustees awarded the following grants, which encompass community impact, education, emergency response, health care, mental health and youth development:

 All-Tex Splash Pad Fund was awarded $50,000 to install community splash pads at Unidad and Kirby parks.

CV Biblical Counseling Center was awarded $20,000 for technology upgrades. 

East Concho Volunteer Fire Department was awarded $35,500 to purchase and install a wildland skid unit.

Eaton Hill Nature Center & Preserve was awarded $20,000 to build an outdoor primitive learning and discovery area.

Junction Community After School Program & Family Resource Center was awarded $75,000 to build a new facility to house its expanding after-school care program, clubs for middle and high school students, and adult classes.
