BLOOMINGDALE TOWNSHIP (WWJ) A West Michigan man was arrested after he allegedly tried to choke his wife and stab her with kitchen knives inside their home.
The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office said, in a press release, they responded to a domestic violence call on Sunday (9/15) around 12:49 a.m. from a home in Bloomingdale Township, about 27 miles northwest of Kalamazoo. Central Dispatch advised them the suspect was trying to stab his wife with knives and assault her.
During the investigation; deputies learned the 49-year-old suspect had tried to “kill his wife with two kitchen knives and physically assaulted her by slamming her against the wall of the residence,” according to the sheriff’s office press release.
She escaped outside; but he continued to assault her by “knocking her to the ground…and choking her to the point of unconsciousness,” the sheriff’s office said.
The suspect was arrested at taser point for noncompliance and lodged at the Van Buren County Jail …
