“It’s helping a lot of people. Even if they don’t have a place to go, they really need a coat,” Brandy Fields said, who was picking up two coats.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The West End Token Club was a hub of activity Friday morning, with people picking up donated coats and spreading some holiday cheer.
“My goal was 1,000 and I know we’re at least 500 coats,” Vanessa Graves said, the leader of Hannah’s House of Hope. This was the second year Graves ran this event in west Louisville, and the first year inside.
The coat exchange ran from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with waves of people picking up coats throughout the morning.
“I saw it on the news this morning, and had some coats left over and thought, ‘I have extra, they need some…it’s perfect,'” Corrie Miyamoto said, who came from the East End to donate coats.
