Wembanyama thanks supporters during the Olympics; Keldon Johnson [Video]

SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio Spurs‘ Victor Wembanyama and Team France lost the gold medal game against Team USA.

The team was in tears after the game as the French fans cheered them, knowing they had given it their all on the court.

And that support did not fall on deaf ears.

After the Olympics ended, Wemby took to social media to thank everyone for the support they gave him and let them know it was just the start of great things for French basketball.

“It’s just the beginning,” Wemby posted. “Merci la France. Merci aux supporters Francais.”

Wemby and France won the silver medal and the Spurs center received accolades for his play.

He was named a rising star and earned a spot on the Olympic All-Star five players, joining Nikola Jokic, LeBron James, Stephen Curry, and Dennis Schroder.
