‘We do not want to have to do this. These animals mean so much to us’ | Sevier County animal shelter considering euthanizing animals for space [Video]

SEVIER COUNTY, Tenn. — The center announced the euthanasia risk on Facebook Tuesday afternoon. The post said without any changes over the next few days, they wouldn’t have any other choice. That post got hundreds of comments with people questioning why the center would have to resort to putting animals down. 

Kerri Medlin, the center’s community engagement specialist said it’s a difficult decision for them and not one they would make lightly. 

“Unless you have been here living through it, don’t judge what we have to do and what we have to consider. We’re here from morning to night crying with these animals, naming these animals, loving these animals, feeding them, taking care of them. We do not want to have to do this.
