When it comes to holiday shopping, there are some people for whom buying gifts is difficult. What does one buy for a family member who already has everything, a husband more precious than any gift could convey or a distant coworker you picked in the office gift exchange?
In four ads directed by Academy Award winner Taika Waititi, Sephora shows that many gifting conundrums are caused by overthinking and aiming for the “perfect” gift, when many would be thrilled with a gift that’s “frivolous, fun and simple,” according to a press release.
The work was inspired by audience research that found that 28% of respondents find shopping for beauty to be “too specific/personal” and 37% feel intimidated by Sephora stores.
