Washoe County Public Library hosts first-ever Local Author Fest [Video]

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – Join fellow reader and writers at the Downtown Reno Library for a day celebrating local authors and their work. More than 40 local authors will read, sell and sign their books throughout the day. Readings will take place every 20 minutes on three stages.

Debi Stears, the collection development manager, stopped by Morning Break to invite the community to this weekend’s event. Registration is required as there is limited seating available, but the event is free.

It takes place Saturday, Nov. 9 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the downtown library.

Special guest Willy Vlautin will take the stage at 2:30 p.m. He is a New York Times bestselling author and Reno native. He will discuss his publishing journey and his newest book, The Horse. Seating for this portion of the event is limited; tickets will be available in-person on a first-come-first-served basis on the day of the event.
